So the papers have been signed and a moving date has been set. Before you can start enjoying your new home and living this new chapter in your life, however, there is the not-so-small task of moving still ahead of you. This can be a daunting prospect, but luckily, there are some simple ways you can make your moving day a little less stressful.
As with everything, making a solid plan is half the battle. So, when you’re packing, think of what you’ll need the most when you get to your new place. You should pack an essentials bag so you don’t have to rummage through endless boxes to find small items like a phone charger or scissors. It’s also a good idea to add essentials for your first night into this bag. This includes things like toothbrushes and pyjamas so you can easily crash into bed at the end of the day.
When you get to your new home, it’s a good idea to do a bit of cleaning before moving your stuff in, as this will be much harder to do with boxes everywhere. You should also move in furniture first so that it can fit where you need it to go.
