Market Brief: Thinking of selling? Now’s the time! With Christmas now less than six weeks away, the housing market in York is starting to quieten down slightly.
That being said, there are still serious buyers out there who are looking for quality properties and offers are still being made and accepted.
Recent statistics from Rightmove (see graph below) show that 2nd January is the site’s busiest day, with traffic throughout January going through the roof! With this in mind, we can’t recommend more strongly that now is a great time to get your property valued and ready for that post-Christmas rush.
Waiting until January can often mean you miss out on many of the buyers who are looking to make their new start early in the new year.
We have, of course, also got the impending Brexit deadline on the horizon, which may cause some market uncertainty as we get closer to 29th March.
Again, our advice would be to get your property on the market as early as possible if you are wanting to move next year.
The rental market in York remains consistently strong and we have a number of great investment properties on the market at the moment.
As we look forward to next year, there are lots of new city centre developments in the pipeline and we are starting to prepare for their release in Spring.
