Market Brief: There’s a feel good factor in the air With a long spell of beautiful summer weather and the eternal British hope that football is ‘coming home’, there is most definitely a sense of optimism in the air!The fantastic weather is showing our city off at its best and everywhere you look there is something new and exciting happening! Bloom York launched last week, a four-day festival celebrating 250 years of horticulture in York, and has seen parts of the city undergo stunning floral transformations.
The pop-up Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre is another exciting first for the city, and indeed Europe! With all of these fantastic events, we are living up to our reputation as being the UK’s best place to live – no wonder property is in demand!Indeed, the ‘feel good factor’ is having a positive impact on the York property market with people feeling like they want to get on with things.
We are now in the last push before the main school holidays with many still properties coming to the market.
The familiar cycle of hesitation as people wait to see other properties coming to market before they decide to sell their own is starting to shift and, as it does, we’ll start to see even more come to market.
Development in the city is also continuing at pace with Hungate, Rydale and Hudson House progressing well with some exciting properties available.
Our fingers are crossed for continued good weather, a buoyant summer market and, if we dare to dream, World Cup success! Share on social media
