Market Brief: Rarely has the market started so busy as in 2017 The market positivity I spoke of last month has held true throughout February as both sellers and buyers are now fully reconnected in the market place and there is a determination to get on despite the fact that Article 50 has not been invoked.
We have put a good deal of new property onto the market, much of which has already sold and the shortage of homes available to buy and rent is continuing to drive demand.
We are aware of a number of new developments coming forward which will help but the numbers required by our City Council’s own admission are figures in the region of 800-900 homes per year for the next 20 years, which is unlikely to be fulfilled.
We were delighted to attend the Local Hero Awards run by Minster FM where this year we sponsored the Best Neighbour award.
I often go around properties and people point out the plus points of their homes and on many, many occasions, one of the strengths from their point of view is the fact that they have good neighbours, so it was extremely gratifying to be able to sponsor this award as I think having helpful and friendly neighbours is one of the most important factors in making a house a home.
We are looking forward to a busy spring market and as the evenings start to draw out and the daffodils start to emerge, spring is not far away.
