3 summer time projects to make your garden more interesting Creating defined spaces in your garden where would-be house buyers can imagine themselves spending time is a great way to make your home that little bit more attractive.
Here are three of our favourite projects that can transform your garden and leave a lasting impression on viewers.
1 - Herb gardens and vegetable patchesWhile it’s pretty easy to buy your herbs from the supermarket, growing them at home is a fresher and often much cheaper way of adding some extra flavour to your meals at home.
It’s also a great way to give your garden a ‘homely’ feel and a brilliant project for a would-be buyer to carry on should they decide to buy your home.
Popular herbs to grow include parsley, basil, chives and thyme and they can be planted in any good container, even that old watering can that’s cluttering up the shed.
Vegetable patches are also very popular and despite us not always enjoying the best weather in Yorkshire, you might be surprised at how much veg you’re able to grow.
2 - BBQ areasOnce the sun begins to shine it doesn’t take long for BBQ’s to be fired up across the gardens of the UK.
A nice well defined area for BBQ useage can be another feather in your cap when it comes to house viewings as BBQ areas are perfect for spending time with friends and family during the summer months.
Pinterest is a great source of inspiration if you’re looking for ideas on how best to design your BBQ area.
3 - A relaxing hideawayMany of us endure lots of stress during the working week and the thought of a calming, tranquil outdoor space to read a book or enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day is an attractive one.
Fragrant flowers, hammocks, water features and bird feeders are all good ways to create a soothing, natural hideaway.
